Directions
For the dough
In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, milk powder, turmeric, sugar, salt and curd / yogurt together.
Add water .
Knead well for 6 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic. Add 2-3 tbsp of extra water if the dough is too stiff. Keep kneading for another 1-2 minutes. Now add 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp chopped garlic.
Shape the dough into a ball and place it into a well oiled bowl. Cover it with cling film. Let the dough double in volume.
Meanwhile let us make the garlic oil.
In a small glass bowl, mix butter , oil , chopped garlic and coriander leaves.Heat it in the microwave for a minute or two. Turn off the heat. Let the oil cool.
Now, punch down the dough gently. Shape it into equal sized balls, each one weighing around 50gms.
Dough will be slightly sticky. Oil your palm while shaping.
Let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
Heat a aluminium tawa / flat iron pan/ tandoor on medium heat.
Here I’m using aluminium tawa. Heat the tawa on medium flame.
Now roll each ball into 5” oval shape.
Place one naan on the hot tawa and let it cook until it gets bubbly and golden in colour. Now with the help of a tong, remove the naan from tawa. Now flip and transfer directly to the gas flame. Let it cook for a minute or two.
Remove it from the flame. Apply the prepared garlic oil and serve hot .
