Directions
1Keep the mint paste ready. Add a drop of green colour. You can use peppermint essence and green colour instead of fresh mint.
2Sift flour and baking powder thrice. Keep it aside.
3Pre heat the oven at 150 degrees C. Grease and dust a small loaf tin. You can use a regular bread tin.
4Cream butter , orange zest and sugar well.
5Add gently beaten eggs.
6Keep beating using a hand mixer.
7Gently fold in flour, orange juice and milk.
8Do not stir the batter. Fold in these ingredients very gently using a spatula.
9SIft the cocoa powder and activated charcoal powder together. Activated charcoal is optional.
10Take around 8 tbsp of cake batter separately and add the mint paste. Mix it very gently. Keep it aside.
11Now divide the orange flavoured batter into two parts.
12Transfer one part into the prepared tin.
13Sift 1 1/2 tbsp of cocoa powder over the orange batter.
14Now gently transfer the green layer over the cocoa layer.
15Repeat sifting the remaining cocoa powder over the green layer.Do not stir the layers.
16Transfer the remaining orange batter on the cocoa layer.
17Place it in the oven. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 150 degrees or until done.
