Mint Orange sponge cake..
Ingredients
- 1 cup All purpose flour/ Maida
- 2 tbsp Cornflour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 3 count Egg
- 1 tbsp Fresh mint paste
- 3 tbsp Orange juice
- 1 tsp Orange zest
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3 tbsp Water
Directions
Grease and dust a 11"x7 1/2" rectangle tin.
Pre heat the oven at 140 degree C.
Separate egg whites and yolks.
Now take 1 cup of flour .Remove 2 tbsp of flour from it and add 2 tbsp of cornflour. Add baking powder and salt and sift atleast 6-7 times.
Powder the granulated sugar and sift it well.
Beat the egg whites and add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar ,little by little. Beat it until stiff .Keep it aside.
In another bowl , beat the egg yolk and add the rest of the sugar , orange zest ,water and orange juice until it is stiff and almost pale yellow in colour.Now add flour little by little . Do not stir the batter. Fold in flour gently.
Add a drop of green mint colour if required and thick mint paste and orange zest.Now fold in beaten egg whites.
Now transfer the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for 14-15 mins .
