Donut Holes

2 cup All purpose flour/Maida

3/4 tbsp Instant dry yeast

1 1/2 tbsp Sugar

3/4 tsp Salt

1/2 cup Warm milk

3 tbsp Water

1 1/2 tbsp Melted butter

1/4 cup Sweet potato (mashed)

1 tbsp Orange zest

Oil for frying


1Mix flour, instant dry yeast, sugar, salt, orange zest and mashed sweet potato.

2Mix the ingredients together.

3Add warm milk. Knead for a minute.

4Add water and knead well for 6 minutes.

5Add melted butter and knead for another 5 minutes.

6Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a well oiled bowl.

7Cover it with cling film and let it rise.

8Let the dough double in volume.

9Now punch down the dough gently.

10Knead for a minute or two.

11Shape it into a ball.

12Roll it out using a rolling pin. Thickness should be around 1 cm.

13I am using a small bottle cap to shape it.

14Line a rectangular tin with parchment sheet. Allow it to proof for 10 mins.

15Heat oil in a heavy bottom frying pan and fry the dough until golden brown.

16Dust it with icing sugar or fill it with cream or jam of your choice.
